Merrickville and District Historical Society: The Historical Society was formed in 1965 to encourage an interest in the history and heritage of Merrickville. Their goal is to protect and preserve its 19th century stone and masonry homes and businesses in the Village. Look for the Miller’s of Merrickville Country Store building on the Walking Tour Map.

Parks Canada: The Rideau Canal is a chain of beautiful lakes, rivers and canals winding 202 km from Kingston, at the head of Lake Ontario, to Ottawa, Canada's capital city. One of Canada's historic canals, the Rideau is maintained and operated by Parks Canada to preserve and present the canal's natural and historic features.
Rideau Canal - UNESCO World Heritage Site: The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) was founded in 1945. World Heritage sites belong to all the peoples of the world, irrespective of the territory on which they are located. The Rideau Canal was recognized by UNESCO as a world heritage site in 2007.
